# Profile Types

### Employee Profile Types

In Marco, employees are assigned to one of several **profile types**:

* **Staff Only**
* **Manager Only**
* **Manager & Staff**

Your **profile type** determines what actions you can perform and what sections of Marco you can access.

#### **Profile Type Overview**

| **Profile Type**    | **Access & Permissions**                                                                                                                                                                                                                            |

### **Access to Marco’s Interface**

Your **profile type** also determines which tabs you can access:

* **Staff**: Can access the **Personal** tabs to manage their own data.
* **Managers**: Can access the **Team Management** and **Billing & Order** tabs.

***

### **Find Your Profile Type**

**Staff**

* If you are a **Staff**, you will only be able to access the **Personal** tabs.

**Managers**

* If you are a **Manager**, you will be able to access **Team Management** and **Billing & Order** tabs.
* **Manager Only** profiles **cannot** access their **Personal** tabs.
* **Manager & Staff** profiles **can** access their **Personal** tabs.

### **Need to Update Your Profile?**

If your profile type is **incorrect**, contact your **HR representative** or **vendor** to request a change.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.marcopayroll.com/marco-user-guide-x4/2025/introducing-marco-os/user-roles-and-profiles/profile-types.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
